Roman Baths Marble Floor Gets A Sustainable Revival with LTP Products
Background LTP products have been utilized for a historic marble floor renovation at The Roman Baths, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Somerset. Renowned restoration specialists, Green Man, completed the project, which extended across the Prom Corridor and other areas.
Historical Significance Established around 70AD in Bath, The Roman Baths is one of the best-preserved Roman monuments globally. Originally a grand bathing complex, it still sees 1,170,000 litres of spring water daily.
Restoration Details The marble floors in various corridors feature different stones and were previously treated with a sealing surface. Green Man used LTP Solvex to remove old finishes and LTP Grimex for deep cleaning before applying six coats of LTP Ironwax Gloss.
Outcome The result was a beautifully restored marble floor that safeguards against damage and wear. Further maintenance will involve regular mopping with LTP Floorshine.
